WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FROM AN APPOINTMENT?

Appointments are usually 30-60 minutes in length. Your physio will talk to you about your child’s symptoms, strengths and areas of need, and what your goals might be. Assessment and intervention occur during play and age appropriate activities, with the focus being on engaging your child and identifying ways to incorporate physiotherapy strategies into their everyday life. Physio should be fun and meaningful, and focus on helping your child successfully participate in home, sport and school.  The goal of any physiotherapy appointment is to give your family the skills to successfully manage your child’s condition at home.

DO I NEED A REFERRAL?

No, you do not need a referral to see a physiotherapist

CAN I CLAIM A REBATE FROM MEDICARE OR MY PRIVATE HEALTH FUND?

Yes, if you have ancillary (Physiotherapy) cover on your Private Health you should receive a rebate on our services (including groups and classes run by physios). Please remember that rebates and services covered vary between insurers and policies. We recommend that you check with your individual health fund to find out exactly what you get back.


Physiotherapy can be covered by Medicare but you require a referral from your GP under the Enhanced Primary Care program.  This entitles you to a partial rebate on five allied health sessions a year.  Your GP must decide whether or not your child’s condition is eligible to be treated under this scheme.

We also provide services under the Better Start Initiative.
